(WHEN BANK FEE IS NOT FOR THE PRINCIPAL)
In the Fairwater Main menu select Accounting/Cash And Banking/Cash receipts as shown below.

In the next screen you will see the Cash Receipt List which will default to all open cash receipts meaning that the entries have been saved but not posted. Select “Add New”.

In the Bank Header Information section enter the yellow highlighted fields. “Description” is optional but enter a description pertaining to the entry. After the Bank Header information is completed select “Add new as shown by the first arrow below. This is the “Receipt Header Information” section. In the “Customer” field type in the Principal name. You can also search by principal code, vessel name or file number. Once Customer is selected enter the “Doc date”, “Gross Received Amount”, and “Bank Fee” as a negative entry. See highlighted in yellow below. Select “save” as shown by the second arrow below.
Make sure that the “Batch Total “in the Bank Receipt header section and the “Balance” column in the Receipt Header Information section match as shown by the first arrow.

After selecting “save” you will then see the “Receipt Details”. Notice the red square below which is ticked. The receipt details that you will see are all open proformas with balances. NOTE: If the call is not listed below, the proforma has not been sent. This should be rare but you would then have to go out to the Port office to send the proforma so that the advance can be posted.
Select your vessel call and enter the “receipt item” and “Paid amount”. Notice that in the “Full Pay” column you can select the $ sign and the proforma balance will populate.

Select “save” if you want to exit from this screen. Select Post to post the entry. Before you select “post” you can always select “Validate” to be sure all entries have been entered properly and all is in balance.
